Is this not the moment in history for there to be an offer to decapitated dealers??

I would think the first offer would be to those in Claims Court, who look like a positive outcome might be had....

Another article this morning. Do not trust these people!
http://www.autonews.com/apps/pbcs.dl...-riles-dealers |
"S.O.S." Threats and backroom deals made...($$$). They are obviously intending to squeeze Bergeron out and put "their" dealer in...otherwise it makes no sense whatsoever. They are already threatening him for not meeting VGP goals (which is just another form of "stair step" pricing). I saw them increase the VGP goals for some single point dealers they wanted to get rid of by ridiculous amounts after they started to program back in 2007(?), and put them in a non competitive situation in relation to the other dealers in their area until they had to sell out to one of the chain operations. They are ruthless bastards! AND...they spend $30 million last night pushing Alfa Romeo on the Super Bowl...that will REALLY pump up the volume and market share...jeez

I read in Autonews that last year Alfa sold just over 500 cars in the US. So if they DOUBLE sales to 1000 cars that's 30 THOUSAND dollars per car for Super Bowl advertising! Sounds like a great buy to me! My wife had no idea who Alfa was. After I explained it and the fact that Fiat is looking to add dealers she understood why I was so angry. The stupidity of these guys just makes me ill. I don't mean to always sound like I think I'm the smartest guy in the room, but am I missing something? That use of ad money just seems stupid to me. |
Steve, Its OK to be the smartest guy in the room. Just be sure you recognize the dumbest and DO NOT TELL HIM you know.... (I think that's how I became an Ex Dealer.)
