New Parts Manager
Hello all
I recently returned to a parts manager position after being away for about 10 years. I'm looking for info on how to go about shipping out heavy cores. In the past we used to be a DDS dealer and the process was a simple as leaving our cores on our dock for the driver to pick up. We've since become a non-DDS dealership and I'm not quite sure how to go about getting our tranny and engine cores out of here. The last parts manager left abruptly and didn't leave much knowledge behind for our parts staff. I know that we had been leaving our cores at another local DDS dealer, but we've run into some issues with doing that and I'd like to just ship them out from our building instead. I found some info in the P&P manual but it was a little vague. Any advise or tips from anybody out there? Thank you!! |
I'm sorry, I don't have any information on this to share. let me look into it though.

Thanks. I did try to check with my Chrysler rep, who said I should ask other dealers if we have any questions. Not a lot of help coming our way from Chrysler.

Tell me about it. Used to run into the same thing with CH 10 years ago.

You could try to call the Global Core Return Hotline for guidance 866-254-2940
I have found Larry to be very helpful. Steven |
While I don't have direct experience with this type of return, I have returned a Transmission to the Warranty guys recently.
Basically, you type in the information into the "Global Core Returns" screen. (Mopar = Service Contract, Warranty = Bumper-to-bumper etc.) Since you are not a DDS dealer, I am willing to bet that they will generate UPS Frieght labels for you. Once confirmed, you should have a UPS Freight Truck roll up AT RANDOM (within 1-3 days) and haul it away. Assuming, of course, that they do it like they did my Warranty Transmission Core.... |
