Justice
Thanks Dealer Ex, I was being very sarcastic. It will take some time to digest the result.
|
Appalling, just appalling! This has been a smelly, dirty, steamy, matter from the day the politicians got there chance to take possession of a manufactured crisis. The same gang now saving us from the current manufactured crisis. Just appalling.... Just another footnote in the sad destruction of the greatest county (political system), economic system, and land of opportunity to ever exist in the history of humans.
It takes self delusion to remain an optimist! |
I'm still trying to gather my feelings, but I can say, the country has changed and moved so far from truth, values, and even common sense, that this verdict doesn't even surprise me. This is not the USA of our grand parents, or parents, and is rapidly moving to socialism, and the sad thing is that nobody even cares.
Our main concern is now, who won "Dancing with the Stars", and not what is happening to our country. Dumbing down the population. |
Well we received our letter about an appeal. I have such mixed feelings on if it is just another waste of time or if justice will be served. The amount being asked for is not excessive. Need to decide in the next few days. Wish I could just let go.

Sorry about my reply. That was a really bad day. I just didn't think. |
I'm in. I figure it is better odds than buying a lottery ticket.
|
I'm in too. I hope it's better odds than a lottery ticket but with the government involved I'm not sure.

FWIW, here is a little karma that might make you smile. Recently, the former MABC Director, you know the one that got promoted after killing people's business but who was then fired by the recently deceased chain smoker from Italy.. Well it would appear he has had a rough go of it since his own termination. If you look at his LinkedIn profile my man has not been able to hold a job down. I was in an FCA showroom in the northeast recently and they were talking about a former high flier who they were having a hard time getting bought. When I saw who it was I smiled.
|
Well it finally made the Snooze.

|
Haven't heard if the attorneys got enough takers to try to appeal. I'll try to find out and let everybody know.
|
I'm sorry guys. I was hoping for a good verdict for you guys. You deserve better, but I'm afraid Possom is right about this not being the country of of our grandparents/parents/or even our younger selves. This country cares more about the life of a 'professional' athelete then it does our military, police, and 1st responders. I'm 56 years old, and I've been in this business for 32 years now, and the things I've seen in the last few years are mind-blowing. Again, to everyone who was involved, I'm sure sorry to hear this rotten news.
|
The Bellavia group has enough takers to appeal. Not sure about the other groups.
|
Happy New Year to all of us trying to get some satisfaction after a decade of trying. Maybe this will be our decade?
|
Sorry the outcome wasn't the one everybody hoped for. As a salesperson at a dealer Chrysler closed, I lost my job, most of my client base, and a steady income. I hoped that a small victory here would help heal those wounds. Maybe on appeal, some justice will prevail. Happy new year to everyone here.

You are correct. That was just as the wheels were coming off the bus. I had my brief moment of fame, then, lost my job.
|
Now, I am back with Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram working in Finance. I started back in September. I hope the second go round with Chrysler goes better.
|
Junior, I wish you the best of luck!
|
Just a bump to keep this thread on the main page. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

I hadn't seen the Jon Stewart clip in post #56 until now. That made me tear up, then rage crept in. Gutless #$%@# couldn't tell me in person that they decided to flush my business down the drain for me.
That day, without a doubt, the toughest job I ever had- telling my excellent dealership crew that due to no fault of their own, they were going to be unemployed. Thankfully, they all were only temporarily out of work, and have successfully forged ahead. |
Welcome back to The Forum! 3 posts in 8 years sure makes me look like a blabbermouth.
Don't feel bad I have known about that clip since it came out and I get the same emotions to this day. Unless you've lived through it you won't understand. All I can say is, even though it had been over a decade, stay strong. |
Tesla...
Im probably going stir up the hornets nest here...but here goes.
I searched the fourm for Tesla info and see very little on this company the last few years here. Whats everyones take on the company now since they have survived/disrupted and grown. Looks like they are going to be around for the foreseable future. |
Welcome back!
The Forum was very active a decade ago when the Chrysler and GM bankruptcy was going on. Many of the members were effected by the BK, me included. I personally have no problem with Tesla or their way of selling cars. I'm not convinced electric is the way of the future with all the hurdles in front of them....Range....Charge time.....charging station availability, to name a few. Now stock price I wonder about. If any of the dealers on the forum would walk into a bank and tell them that we wanted to start a dealership that wouldn't turn a profit for................A DECADE +........I doubt we'd have much luck. Mr. Musk is lucky he made his billions before he got into the car business. Now on his sales philosophy. He is putting his, or should I say, his stockholders, money up to create a sales location. This is NOT a franchise like GM, Ford, Chrysler and everybody else. Franchise owners put up brick and mortar, hired employees, bought inventory and put up with many ridiculous requirements from the factories for years sometime decades, 8 decades for my families dealership. So franchise laws were enacted to protect that investment, nothing more! If the manufacturer could come in and sell product it would put the dealers at a huge disadvantage. To get a feel for this group I suggest you go back and read some prior threads. Lots of really smart guys here. I hope you hang around, The Forum has gotten quiet of late. On a side note. How's Biz up in Canada? |
Well guys.....Am I the last one left?
|
No. Just been responding through the Dealerlaw section.
|
No you are not.
|
No, but so involved with non car business and my farm, i can hardly find the time to sit at a computer screen for leisure. Always good to read the comments here.

Just a bump

Hi Steve. Hope you and all the old forum buddies are well. Since the flu has been around, I have traveled to 20 states and had a ball. Trying to remain optimistic about our homeland, hard to do with such a drumbeat of evil being broadcast daily. I pray daily (and resultingly find prayers unanswered) for some positive news, yet it seems the only great things left are the lick of my dog and the giggle of a child. God, or Nature’s god, bless us all and give us the grace to always do the “right” thing. Mask on or mask off, we should smile! Bud

Keep Smiling!! Steve. |
Still here, still check in from time to time.
|
Well.....Looks like we are not dead yet! Keep praying guys.
|
Steve, since I read not the auto related articles, to what are you referring? Happy Thanksgiving!
|
I received an email from the attorney's saying that we are on the list of cases for the supreme court to look at. As I read it I took away that chances are very good we will get a hearing. We should know in the next few weeks.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family as well! |
Well it's over. Merry Fu#@&*g Christmas.
|
Steve, I guess the dirty part of this news is it happened on a holiday of such great love and peace. Time has passed to reach beyond the “getting even” phase to the “I lost a piece of my life, and survived “! Some gave up early on, you didn’t. Congratulations on fighting so hard for “satisfaction “. God bless you and yours!

Nobody in the government cares about what happened back in 2009. They were responsible for it happening, via the Auto Task Force and the federal judge that ruled the asset division between Newco and Oldco, which effectively prevented the dealers from suing for damages. All that has happened is the affected dealers have been given false hope for years and spent a lot of money trying to get just a little justice. The Government is never going to admit what they did was wrong, and they were never going to allow dealers any recourse in court because that would result in their complicity being made public. It has been sickening watching this play out for all these years, knowing how it has affected friends of mine.
|
Justice?
Got notice earlier today.
AMEN |
Love you guys, you were there when I didn't think anybody was.
