BMW's Fuel Efficiency Commercials

This is a day that I never thought I would see - BMW has a TV commercial that speaks about fuel efficiency and how they have more 28+ MPG vehicles than any other luxury car manufacturer.

Has the price of gasoline gone up so much that people now need to be convinced to buy a BMW because of fuel economy? :(

I don't fault BMW for releasing the ad, I just would have thought that the demographic of customers that buy their vehicles would be less sensitive to increases in fuel prices.

I'll have to watch the sales reports more carefully to see if BMW sales have slumped with the rest of the industry. Typically the high end cars are thought to be recession-proof.
