GM upper intake manifold 89017272
 

Looking for information on this part number. I'm pretty sure it is the latest and greatest GM upper intake manifold but is it "improved" over the previous part number. I don't have an original to compare. I hear about aftermarket manifolds that have a metal reinforcement in the problem area (EGR passage). This GM 89017272 does not appear to have that but I cannot tell if the area has been beefed up or not. Not finding any GM bulletins or par-tech information that state anything other than here is a part number. I know it's one we've been selling for years and I can't say we've seen any issues after replacing them.
