I find it interesting that we were not given this piece of information before being flogged for orders during their cross country road trip. Needing additional funds was never mentioned. I wonder if they thought that if they told us that along with needing the orders to be viable they also needed 5 billion in TARP that we would have all passed on orders. I guess that when Jim told us he was being completly transparent he forgot that piece.
The Viability Plan apparently indicates that three vehicles will be dropped - I wonder which ones?
The Compass and Commander have been weak for Jeep and the Nitro and Dakota have been weak for Dodge. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Personally I would not mind them cutting the Commander, Patriot and Compass. I do not have a New Commander in stock and I have none on order. I have one Patriot and 4 Compasses and when they are gone I am not ordering any more of them either. I want to get my Jeep inventory to the models they should have stuck with all along. The Wrangler, Liberty and Gr. Cherokee.

That is a rather convenient omission.
Liquidation is no small threat. As we've discussed here, a Chapter 11 or Chapter 7 filing would wipe-out most of the dealer network.
Granted, they're just playing hardball but this constant fear/threat is getting old.

Just a rehash of old news - Aspen, Durango and PT Cruiser.
