In response to popular request, I contacted my Forum Developer, whitemike, and asked that he add some smilies to the forum to make it a little more colorful and entertaining. :hatty:

So, if you're the type of person who likes to use a smilie to convey a thought or an emotion, now you have more to choose from. :thumbsup_old:

Special thanks to CL Pgh, dafuzz1956 and miles for making the requests.

Thanks X-Man! :beerchug:

I'm glad you like them. I was going to try to add them on my own but I couldn't figure out how to do it. :crash:

That's why it's nice to have whitemike available for development work. As the membership grows I'll try to incorporate other features to make the forum more enjoyable.

just trying out the smilies :beerchug: :spotman:

Quick question though, do you have to copy and paste or go advanced to find an avatar or something?

Quick question though, do you have to copy and paste or go advanced to find an avatar or something?

Great question - the short answer is that the avatars are on hold.

Here's the longer answer: I like avatars, I think they personalize the forum and make it a stronger community. I think it's great when someone has a picture of their kids or a vacation scene that gives you some insight into their lives.

That said, I've been to a number of forums that have avatars that are not work-safe. I want this to be a professional forum and I don't want to drive potential members away because someone has a avatar of this month's centerfold. :shame:

When the site grows large enough that there's ample staff to remove an offensive avatar it will be time to re-evaluate the decision.
Thanks for asking the question, I'm sure there were others that were wondering too. :)

I'm sorry I wasn't very clear with my question. My question is do you have to copy and paste the code for the smilies or just click on the smilie to post it? I copied and pasted code.

Sorry about that, my fault. :o I saw the word avatar and got all excited to answer your question. :bouncy: (At least I thought it was your question.....)

Concerning the smilies, there's no need to copy and paste, just click on the smilie you want and it inserts into the text box. Then just close (or minimize) the window with all of the smilies and you're good to go.
