When I looked at Chrysler's "National Balance to Go" Report for February I was surprised to see they still needed more than 12,000 minivan orders - more than 25% of their total unsold production.
Then I remembered reading this story over the weekend: http://usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/cars-trucks/daily-news/090130-So-Much-for-the-Routan-Boom/
U.S. News and World Reports indicates that Volkswagen has asked Chrysler to stop building their Routan Minivan due to slow sales and building inventories.

It looks like the Chrysler and Dodge dealers are being asked to pick-up the slack so Chrysler can keep the plants open.
According to Automotive News, as of 01/01/09 the Chrysler Town and Country had 30,300 units on the ground representing a 97 day supply and the Dodge Caravan had 26,400 units on the ground representing a 99 day supply.
