New Chicagoland member to the forum

I'm a former GSM seeking to re-enter the car industry after pursuing other professional opportunities for the last 5 years. (Yes, I know the timing to get back in the industry is miserable).

The reason I joined this forum is to come up to date with today's issues in the dealership environment. So far from what I've read, it sounds like the car industry essentially remains the same--except for the fact that the economy is in the pits.

Having just relocated from the Los Angeles area to Chicago, can anyone recommend any headhunters, recruiters, or resources for finding employment in the Chicagoland area? (I am specifically interested in resources for finding employment in sales management or F&I)

I'd was going to suggest you look at www.lithia.com for positions until you said Chicagoland only. :)

As you stated, this is not the best time to be looking for work in the car business, but I did see that GMAC was looking for a Sales Manager in the Chicago area. This is the position that manages the field reps that call on GMAC dealers.

Granted, GMAC has their issues but regardless of what happens to the company structure they're still going to need field reps to call on their dealerships.
