I read an article on the Internet that indicated that Mexico changed their regulations earlier this year stipulating that the only used vehicles that can be imported into Mexico from the U.S. must be 1998 model year only.
Previously the regulations allowed the for the import of any used vehicle as long as it was between 10 - 15 years old.
The article indicated that for some areas close to the Mexican Border a 1998 used car has a higher wholesale/retail value than an identical 1999 model.
Has anyone experienced this? Are there very many vehicles that are purchased in the U.S. and then driven/exported to Mexico?
