Just a month after the closing of Senator Ford in Sacramento, a news report indicates that Blanco Chevrolet is set to close its operations.

The dealership will sell off the remaining inventory of new and used vehicles and plans to sell the property for redevelopment.

The Dealer Principal indicated that he accepted a buy-out offer from General Motors but did not reveal the terms of the agreement.

It appears that a poor economy and a slumping housing market have claimed another Sacramento Dealership. Great Valley Chrysler/Jeep/Mazda has announced that they will be closing down their operations. :(

Another dealership that's owned by the same Dealer Group is in court over an apparent S.O.T. filing by Ford Motor Credit. Reports indicate that Elk Grove Ford has not made payment for 58 vehicles that have already been sold and delivered to customers - a total S.O.T. condition of $1.6 Million.

Northern California was one of the first areas in the nation that started to lose dealerships - it will be interesting to see if the trend continues across the country?

Another Sacramento Dealership has closed - this time it's an Import Dealership.

Reports indicate that Auburn Nissan has closed for financial reasons. The Dealer Principal indicated that his flooring source was unwilling to extend terms that would have allowed him to keep the business operational.

Sadly, it's not a big surprise that Elk Grove Ford closed their operations.

As reported in the previous post, the Dealer Group had already closed their Chrysler/Mazda Dealership and there was a court filing from Ford Motor Credit that alleged that Elk Grove was out of trust.

Here's another news report on the closing of Elk Grove Ford: http://www.sacbee.com/103/story/1051388.html

Based on the supplied photograph it looks like it was a very nice facility.

In light of the number of closed dealerships in Northern California, the economy must really be struggling. :(

The dealership with a sixty year history in the community cites a poor economy and faltering brands as the reason for the closure.

Sadly, two more Sacramento area dealerships have closed their operations.

Generation Motors and Friendly Chevrolet both closed their doors last week in response to a soft economy and falling car sales. Both dealerships were owned by Curt Hughes.

Here's a link to the news report: http://www.modbee.com/business/story/451451.html

Curt Hughes was in the news earlier this year when he absorbed the used car inventory of Manteca Dodge when that dealership closed their operations. Manteca Dodge was once owned by Curt Hughes before he sold it to his son-in-law Stephan Leer.
