One of my struggles with this site is to stay balanced. I don't want Dealer Principals, General Managers, etc. to think that the site's anti-factory.

Given my background, that's particularly challenging with Chrysler - to the point that I don't post some topics because I don't want to be too negative.

Thankfully, this week the heavy lifting has been done by someone else. :)

There's an excellent review of Chrysler's Current Operations in this weeks version of AutoExtremist.com. (The coverage on Chrysler follows the review of Volkswagen and Kia.)

Here's the link: AutoExtremist.com (http://www.autoextremist.com/) (Rants #436 - March 13, 2008)

You must really dislike the factory. :)

There is nothing wrong with ripping the manufacturer every once in a while.

Hey, that's not fair - I didn't say anything that was anti-factory. (I just provided a link to someone who did it for me.) :)

Truthfully, it's a real struggle for me. I want this site to grow to its potential but I know that most Dealer Principals won't want to join/post if it appears that the only thing that happens here is non-stop factory bashing.

That said, I have strong feelings for the old Chrysler Corporation and it's hard for me to watch what's happening and not say anything.

To me, product is everything - it's the manufacturer's most important job. When I learned that Chrysler was bringing back the guy responsible for the $20 Million Celine Dion deal to direct design and marketing I was astounded.

Chrysler's current product has been poorly received and there's not too much in the pipeline. This is the time that Cerberus needs to dig deep and buy some real talent - not hire the guy who was responsible for the Celine Dion boondoggle.

On a final note, I knew that I had to start a thread about that article when I read the part about a three-headed dog that spent all day/night chasing cars - it was just too good not to share. :)
