Be careful posting the Challenger on eBay, you must announce that the auction is a "pre-sale", and you must guarantee delivery within in 30 days. Failure to do so will prompt eBay to remove your auction, and you will forfeit any listing fees. Even if you have a firm build date, be aware that the fees for a successful sale can run close to S1000.00, and if you were unable to deliver that unit within 30 days, the buyer will have an out and your fees would not be returned. EBay can also suspend your auction privileges for any violation of listing terms.

ChallengerSRT8 - Welcome to the Forum and thanks for an excellent post.

It appears that Ebay's made some changes since I last sold cars there. As I recall, it used to be that the total fees amounted to $150 regardless of the selling price of the vehicle. To spend $1,000 in fees doesn't seem to make sense for the dealer. :(

Thanks again for your post and I love your Screen Name. :)

I believe the fee structure is now based on a percentage of aution selling price.
If the dealer could get a nutsy number above MSRP, the fee could be rationalized.

I just checked Ebay Motors Fee Structure and determined that they charge $40 to list a vehicle and an extra $50 if the vehicle sells. There are some extra fees if you want to add features to your listing, but the basic fees are $90 for each vehicle sold - regardless of selling price.

Here's a link to the Ebay Motors Fee Schedule: http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/motorfees.html

It will be interesting to see how much the Challengers sell for when they first hit the Ebay site.

That is correct - $90.00. Sometimes they have listing specials in motors but not many.

I am in MO and just sold a Suburban to someone in GA and a 1971 Chevelle to someone in VA. Most of my buyers are not local.
