Are dealers receiving Miller Special Tools for the 2012 Cummins 5.0 V8?

There's a thread on Allpar suggesting the Cummins 5.0 Liter V8 for the 2012 Ram 1500 is still alive because the dealers are receiving their Miller Special Tools for the engine. In fairness to Allpar, the author of the thread cites his source as a post on a Cummins Engine forum and questions whether it's true.

I also question if it's true. In fact, I'm 99% certain it's not true but I figured I start a thread to make sure. Are dealers receiving Miller Special Tools for the Cummins 5.0 Liter V8?

Come on, of course it's true. I still remember the Viper special tools package that I received back in '92. We didn't see a Viper for almost 3 years after we got the kit. Or the Prowler tools that came a year prior to the vehicle, or the Crossfire tools that came with it's own tool box a year earlier than the vehicle, and how about the NEW StarScan back in '04 that was to replace the DRB III and was introduced on the updated Durango back then. I remember getting the Starscan about a year earlier, took 1 look at the instructions, and said something derogatory. :rolley:

I follow your point, but this case is different since Chrysler's still on the fence as to whether the Cummins 5.0 engine for the Ram 1500 is still in the product plan. The last report I read said the program is on the shelf so the shipment of Miller tools would be an interesting development.

That said, I'm sticking with my bet that there's a 99% chance the dealers haven't received any tools for the 5.0 Cummins yet.
