A small distraction from the car biz..........
In 1983 we were looking around in an abandoned barn, and found a 1936 Dodge pickup. The property owner did not want it, so we got the company wrecker and pulled it out. SLOWLY, over the next several years, we stripped it down to the bare frame, and had it powder coated.

While the engine was out, our shop completely overhauled it, along with new gas tank, new brake lines, wheel cylinders, and any other mechanical pieces that were deemed bad.

Then, in 1994, as times got really busy, we sold it and concentrated on the car biz. Several years ago, the man we sold it to passed away. His family asked if we wanted it back, and so we re-purchased "our" truck.

Over the next many years, we have re-assembled it, re-painted it, and then sort of sat it aside. Now, with the extra time on our hands, we have gotten it out again and freshened it up, again. It is running great, and has been a lot of fun mess with. We are now going to get some chrome work done, and do some finish work, then it will be "done".

Anyway, its a nice distraction in a bad time.

How do I put pics on the Forum?????

It's pretty easy - follow this link for instructions - click here (http://www.dealershipforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=258)

If you don't feel like messing with that process, just send me the pictures as an e-mail attachment and I'll add them to the thread for you. :) (E-mail = xdxc@dealershipforum.com (xdxc@dealershipforum.com))

possum - I got the file and watched the TV report on my laptop but I'm having problems getting it added to this thread as an attachment.

I think the problem is due to a slow Internet connection - I'll try to add the file to this thread the next time I have full High Speed access.

You don't need to add that here, it was just FYI. I thought you would enjoy it. Don't worry about putting it on the Forum.

Pics will be there soon.

OK. :)

I did enjoy the video. I liked watching where they interviewed your father and then they showed your testimony before Congress. I also think I saw a the '36 Dodge Pickup when the cameras moved through the shop.
