What happened to John Irish Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge?

What happened to John Irish Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge is San Rafael, CA?

I know that the dealership is closed, I first heard about the closing when I saw an ad for an Auction that Chrysler Finance listed as a "Secured Asset Sale."

I searched the Internet and read one story that suggested the closing was related to a difficult divorce and I read another that suggested that he may have gone "nuts." (Their word, not mine.)

I was also surprised that CFC couldn't find a buyer for the store. I would think they would have recouped more money if the dealership could have been sold as an on-going business as opposed to auctioning off the assets?

Is the market that difficult in Northern California, or is Chrysler just using this opportunity to reduce its dealer count?

Well it looks like after about a year sitting as a vacant facility, the old John Irish Dealership will be remodeled and become an Infinity Dealership.

I thought it was interesting that the article indicated that the John Irish Dealership closed due to financial difficulties associated with the owner's divorce.
