I have been told by my service rep. that EVERY dealer must contact their service rep. prior to repairing diesel trucks. With all the closures we do not have time to call on these trucks just to be told "No we are not paying for that, it's fuel contamination" Just curious if this is true in your dealership?

Just to be clear, is your DM saying that ALL dealers must call for authorization before they do any repairs to the Cummins engine?

If that's the case, then I question whether that's true too.

I'll move this thread to the Service Section and hopefully we'll get some additional input.

Yes, my rep said all dealers are suppose to call before repair. I asked my former DOM (now parts and service mgr) and he told me this is true. (Although he sounded like he had a gun to his head when he was talking to me)

Just saw this today...

Yeah, we have to get all diesel repairs approved through the DM.

They can, and will, blame everything on "Contaminated Fuel".

Not warranty.
