CL - Thanks for the post, you're the best. :)

I was on the road last Saturday and didn't have a chance to watch the game on TV or listen to it on the radio. I was reduced to using ESPN's Game-Track on my laptop to keep up with the play by play.

I don't think the Huskies winning streak will last too long though, we've got USC this week. :parnoid:

Wow, that's saying a lot given your ties to Oregon and Colorado.

When I was in Vegas I noticed that the spread was 21 points for USC. If the weather in Seattle turns out to be cold and wet on Saturday, that may be a good bet?

Thanks for all the comments - it was an awesome game..... :)

The Huskies are Ranked 24th this week - the first time they've been ranked in six years. :beerchug:

I guess nothing's forever and Washington lost its ranking after losing to Stanford over the weekend.

That means the Husky fans had to wait six years to see our team ranked again and we only got to enjoy it for a week.

In fairness, the Huskies didn't play that well on Saturday and deserved to lose the game and their ranking. It was fun while it lasted.... :)

I still feel way better about this year's team than last year. It's amazing what a new coaching staff can do for a program.

Who knows, maybe they'll figure out a way to win six games this year and become bowl eligible? (I can always dream.....)

I just realized that I'm a little late in updating this thread. :o

Sadly, the Huskies lost a close game to Notre Dame in overtime last week. (I wonder who SHACOS was really rooting for?)

This week they play Arizona in Husky Stadium - the forecast is overcast with a high of 57.

To be clear, I was rooting for ND. Washington doesn't have that big of a place in my heart.

Oh well, we'll be happy to have your support on all the other games when Washington's not playing Notre Dame. :)

OK, it was pretty but it's still a "W" - the Huskies beat Arizona 36 - 33 and are now 3 - 3 for the season and 2 - 1 in the PAC-10. :)

I think most people who watched/listened to the game would agree that Arizona outplayed the Huskies and deserved the win, but the only thing that matters is the scoreboard.

The Huskies play Arizona State this Saturday and they actually have a chance for "post-season" play if they can win three more games by the end of the year. :thumbsup_old:

Well, last week the Huskies won a game they deserved to lose and this week they lost a game they should have won. :(

As much as I like Coach Sarkisian there's no question that he did a poor job of managing the clock at the end of the game. I still think he's an awesome coach, it just proves that we're all human.

The loss means the Huskies are now are now 3 - 4 for the season and 2 - 2 in the PAC-10.

Improvement takes time. However, there is no excuse for ND losing to those bastards from Southern California for the nth time in a row!

Its a great day, here in The Chicken Fried Nation.

Texas won
TCU won
Texas Tech won

Now, what do we do about them Cowboys?

Howver, they picked up a half game on the NFC East, and had a bye!

I've got to admit that I was rooting for USC to win.

It's not that I'm anti Notre Dame, I just like Pete Carroll and wanted to see the Pac-10 do well against other divisions.

I was thinking about you on Saturday whenever I saw an update to the Texas/OU score. It was a close game, but you got the win and that's all the matters. :)

I think I must still be in a state of denial - it's been almost a week and I haven't updated this thread with results from the Washington/Oregon game.

Sadly the Huskies lost to Oregon for the sixth year in a row - 43 - 19. :(

In fairness, the Huskies didn't play that great and Oregon deserved the win. In fact, with a fake field goal and a fake PAT I thought Oregon was an entertaining team to watch.

The good news is the Huskies have a bye this week so I can relax and look forward to watching USC/Oregon tomorrow. :)

Yeah, even though the Huskies had a bye, the two games in the PAC-10 that I was following went against what I was hoping for. :(

I hated to see USC lose to Oregon. While I typically enjoy a good upset, I like Pete Carroll and wanted to see Oregon knocked off the top spot for the PAC-10 Championship. That said, Oregon played a great game and deserved the win.

I was also on campus at ASU when they were playing California and really wanted to see ASU pull off an upset. Sadly they lost the game on a last second Field Goal.

Concerning ASU, I couldn't believe how many people were still in the parking lot "tailgating" while the game was being played - there were at least 1,000 people. Some of them had some impressive set-ups with big screen TVs and satellite dish receivers. :thumbsup_old:

I was listening to that game on satellite radio and could only stand it for the first half. I bailed after that....

The Seahawks are pretty beat-up with injuries. This year is a write off. :(

CL - thanks for the post. :) It was a great game and a great way to end the season.

Hopefully Locker will come back next year - it would be the smart thing to do. He didn't have a great year this year and many people feel an extra year of development will make him more valuable in the NFL. Time will tell.

The Huskies finished #7 in the Pac-10 with a 4 - 5 Conference Record and 5 - 7 overall. I'm already looking forward to next year.

XDCX, did I hear on the news this morning that the Washington QB is going back for his senior year? I understand he was in the top 5 for the NFL draft, and Mel Kiper has him #1.

I don't think its best for him. He is leaving millions out there. This is the last year of no draft cap. Plus, look at Sam Bradford, went back to OU, got hurt. One injury could wipe it all out.

I agree! Not so much on the injury side because these “draft-able” kids buy insurance policies that protect them from loss of income due to injuries… but because of the looming 2011 work stoppage. I know the work stoppage isn’t a sure thing… but the current CBA ends early March 2011… the NFL draft lands late April. Seems to me you wouldn’t want to be negotiating with a team immediately after these “owner vs. player” negotiations… and that’s assuming the contracts are even finalized by the time the draft comes around… which really isn’t likely.

And, there is nothing he can do to move up in the rankings. He can only go down from here. Take the money, then go back anytime for the degree. Example: Emmitt Smith.

I'll concede that my personal bias may be clouding my opinion. :parnoid:

Like CL pointed out, Locker has an insurance policy against injury and he has a baseball contract he can fall-back on too.

Concerning his value, that's a wild-card. He really didn't have a very good season this year and it's reasonable to think he'll do much better next year since he'll have more experience with Sarkisian's offense.

As a final thought, I think that Locker's looking beyond the money. He really is a great young man and I think he's looking forward to playing a leadership role in returning the Washington Football Program back.
