Iread in Auto news this morning that Ford, Nissan and Tesla motors are tapping government loans for retooling, could this be the beginning of Gov't intervention in Ford?:confused:Oops, this should have been under Ford, I've asked Xman to move it to the proper heading, sorry.:o

Just logged on and moved the thread as requested. :)

As a side note, I recently activated out member's ability to move their own threads - it's one of the "drop down" options in the Tread Tools portion of the header.

Concerning Ford tapping into Gov't funds, I'll have to read more about that. I agree it's a slippery slope but I'm wondering if this is part of the $25 Billion Technology Plan that was originally proposed by President Bush?

Yes it was, but I wonder if this is just the beginning...as it is still a loan regardless of which program it was approved under, if my understanding is correct.

I don't think so. The technology plan was in the works prior to Tarp and had no part in it. It was it's own independent thing. Whether the Govt will start trying ot dictate, that remains ot be seen.

We are now learning day by day that this new socialist party, ooops I mearn Democratic White House works, so if they can they will interveen and try to control all of the auto industry they can.

I asked the question months ago, will we get gov't pay grades and bennifits when this is all over ?:roflolk:
